Ultimate Urban Bundle - X3 and X3

The X3 Moto is a substantial lock which, by necessity, comes with a substantial weight penalty too. In the past I’ve always used a regular motorcycle disc lock but this time, decided that the extra security provided by the X3 Moto was worth the extra weight and cost. Ideally I would have purchased the lock and the CORE Moto in a 150 size as a bundle, but sadly this size was unavailable at the time of purchase.

Unlike my previous locks, the X3 Moto is long enough to go through the front or rear wheel and both brake discs too should I wish. That gives an extra level of protection that a disc lock cannot provide. The Sold Secure Diamond rating gives me that little extra peace of mind and also may attract a small insurance discount when I renew..

Although I have had absolutely no complaints about the functionality of the lock, or the neat bag it comes supplied with, I’d personally like to see an option to have an alternative to black. I like a lock with either fluorescent accents and/or a lock provided with a lock reminder coil to reach the handlebars as both as a noticeable deterrent to thieves and to prevent the rider from attempting to move the bike with the lock still in place. I’ve sourced some reflective tape and a lock reminder coil myself.

It's a solid and sturdy thing. I thought for a long time whether to buy it. Almost two months ago, I finally decided and now I'm testing it. It's a massive lock that gives you confidence and a sense of security. Yes, it is heavy and massive, but it is understandable.

I also received a holder with it, because without the holder it would be a little harder to carry it around. The first times I left the bike, I was anxious, but later I got used to it, now it's much easier (especially mentally) to leave it at home or in the office or when I work as a food delivery boy in the evening or at night. Of course, the lock is not the only thing I carry with me, I also have two alarms, two GPS trackers and an additional, slightly smaller lock for the front wheel. I would also like to note that the Abloy section adds confidence. Of course, all these levels of security are not a panacea for theft, and somewhere I understand that if someone is super determined, they will simply cut off what the bike is attached to, but I hope that this will not happen. But now I am happy to have such a thing.

There were some minor difficulties with the mount, namely with putting the lock in the mount. The rubber coating of the lock was a little thicker in diameter than the hole in the mount itself and it was necessary to apply a considerable force, I understand why it was done, but now everything is rubbed and works perfectly (the lock does not swing when moving).
